Route optimization helps you plan the most efficient order of stops for each team member’s day. BlueSuite factors in the team member’s starting location, drive time between appointments, and your business hours to build a schedule that saves time on the road.
Route optimization is available from the Map view in your calendar. It works one team member at a time so you can review each person’s route before applying it.
Go to the Schedule tab
Switch to the Map view using the toggle at the top of the calendar
Click the Optimize Route button in the top-right corner
Select a team member from the dropdown. The dropdown shows each person’s number of flexible stops for the day.
BlueSuite calculates the optimized stop order and shows a suggestion panel with:
Click Apply Changes to update the schedule, or Dismiss to keep the current order.
Only flexible events (those marked as flexible) are reordered. Events with a fixed start time stay where they are. Flexible stops are arranged around fixed appointments to build the shortest route.
A team member needs at least two flexible events on the selected day for route optimization to be available.
Each route starts from a team member’s configured starting location. There are three options:
Team members can change their starting location from Settings > Profile under the Day Start Location section.
Workspace admins can disable custom start locations if they want everyone to route from the business address. See the Workspace Routing Settings section below.
BlueSuite calculates the estimated drive time between each consecutive stop in the route. When applying the optimized route, this drive time can be added as spacing between appointments so your schedule reflects realistic travel gaps.
Drive time is also used to calculate when the first appointment starts if your workspace is configured to account for travel from the starting location. See Workspace Routing Settings below for details.
Optimized appointments are scheduled to fall within your workspace’s business hours for the day. If a team member has custom working hours set on their profile, those take priority over the workspace hours.
If the selected day falls outside of configured business hours (for example, a weekend that is not enabled), BlueSuite falls back to the earliest flexible event’s original start time.
Workspace owners and admins can configure route optimization behavior from Settings > Jobs & Operations > Routing. There are three settings:
When enabled, team members can set their own day start address in their profile. When disabled, everyone’s route starts from the workspace business address.
